There are thousands of scholarships out there. Some are large scholarships that are well publicized, while others are lesser known. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

2015 Students of Integrity Scholarship

Award Amount: $10,000
Deadline: Jan. 30, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors in Alaska, Oregon or Western Washington who will graduate in 2015 with a 3.5 GPA.

Winfield Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000
Deadline: Feb. 2, 2015
Description: Applicant must be a high school senior graduating in the spring of 2015 or a college freshman or sophomore. Student must have plans of pursuing a degree in agronomy, crop production, or a closely related field.

NFLRUsh Fantasy Scholarship
Sponsor: National Football League
Award Amount: $500
Deadline: Feb. 3, 2015
Description: Applicant must be between the ages of 6 and 15 years of age and a legal resident of the United States. Applicant must register on the website and select players who will do the best in their position during the week. There is a new contest each week.

Scholarship for Woodworking Manufacturing Students
Sponsor: Woodworking Machinery Industry Association
Award Amount: Up to $5,000
Deadline: Feb. 3, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to students planning to enroll in a wood science or wood technology program at an accredited two-year or four-year technical school, college or university in North America.

Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship
Sponsor: Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE)
Award Amount: Up to $10,000
Deadline: Feb. 5, 2015
Description: Applicant must be a current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university with enrollment through the 2015-2016 academic year. Applicant must have an interest in pursuing a career in fraud examination.

AMS Minority Scholarships
Sponsor: American Meteorological Society
Award Amount: $3,000
Deadline: Feb. 6, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors or current college students who are minority students (especially Hispanic, Native American, and Black) and intend to pursue careers in the atmospheric or related oceanic and hydrological sciences.

Jesse Brown Scholarship
Sponsor: Disabled American Veterans
Award Amount: Up to $20,000
Deadline: Feb. 6, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to volunteers who are age 21 or younger and has volunteered for a minimum of 100 hours annually at a VA medical center during the previous calendar year.

Lexington Law Scholarship Award
Sponsor: Lexington Law
Award Amount: $10,000
Deadline: Feb. 7, 2015
Description: Applicant must be a current, full-time student of an accredited U.S. university or college with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5. Applicant must submit an essay related to credit scores.

MathMovesU Middle School Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000
Deadline: Feb. 7, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to middle school students who are U.S. citizens or legal residents. Applicant must submit a PowerPoint illustrating the importance of math in the world around you.

eQuality Scholarship for High School Seniors
Sponsor: eQuality Scholarship Collaborative
Award Amount: Up to $12,000
Deadline: Feb. 9, 2015
Description: Applicant must be a resident of northern or central California who is a current high school senior or college student. Applicant must have demonstrated service to the LGBTQ community. Multiple scholarships are available.

PG&E Scholarships
Sponsor: Pacific Gas and Electric Company
Award Amount: Varies
Deadline: Feb. 9, 2015
Description: To be eligible, student or parent/guardian must reside in PG&E territory. There are multiple scholarship with different requirements. See website for details.

Davidson Fellows Scholarship
Sponsor: Davidson Institute for Talent Development
Award Amount: Up to $50,000
Deadline: Feb. 11, 2015
Description: Applicant must be 18 years or younger, a U.S. citizen residing in the United States, or a Permanent Resident of the United States residing in the United States, or be stationed overseas to active U.S. military duty. Applicant must submit a significant piece of work in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, literature, music, philosophy, or “outside the box.”

Media Plan Case Competition
Sponsor: Washington Media Scholars Foundation
Award Amount: Up to $3,000
Deadline: Feb. 11, 2015
Description: Competition is open to undergraduate students enrolled at a college or university in the United States. Applicant must team up with another student (does not need to attend same institution) to submit a competitive media plan.

Courageous Persuaders Video Contest
Sponsor: DADA Education Foundation
Award Amount: Up to $2,000
Deadline: Feb. 12, 2015
Description: Contest is open to high school students in grades 9-12. Student must create a commercial targeted at middle school students to warn them about the dangers of underage drinking.

California Table Grape Commission Scholarships
Sponsor: California Table Grape Commission
Award Amount: Up to $20000
Deadline: Feb. 13, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors graduating in 2015 or high school graduates who resident in the Coachella or Joaquin valleys and are planning to study agriculture business, science, technology or a related field.

Proton OnSite Scholarship Program
Sponsor: Proton OnSite
Award Amount: Up to $100,000 for four years
Deadline: Feb. 13, 2015
Description: Applicant must be a high school senior currently enrolled in a U.S. high school and a U.S. citizen. Applicant must submit an essay related to renewable energy and hydrogen generation.

Richie’s Spirit Scholarship
Sponsor: Richie’s Spirit Foundation
Award Amount: $1,000
Deadline: Feb. 13, 2015
Description: Applicant must be a legal U.S. citizen currently enrolled in a U.S. accredited high school who will graduate in the Spring of 2015. Applicant must also have planned to attending a vocational school, community college, or a four-year college full-time during the 2015-2016 academic year.

Scholarships for Military Children
Sponsor: Fisher House Foundation
Award Amount: Up to $1,500
Deadline: Feb. 13, 2015
Description: Applicant must be a dependent, unmarried child under the age of 23 of an active duty personnel, reserve/guard or retired military member or survivors of service members who died while on active duty or survivors of individuals who died while receiving retired pay from the military.

Anti-Bullying Scholarship
Sponsor: Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover Foundation
Award Amount: Varies
Deadline: Feb. 14, 2015
Description: Applicant must be a senior in high school with proof of passing the MCAS or equivalent test. Applicant must also provide proof of being admitted to an institution of higher learning. Student must submit an anti-bullying application. Finalist will be invited for an interview.

High School Seniors English Essay Contest
Sponsor: Queer Foundation
Award Amount: $1,000
Deadline: Feb. 14, 2015
Description: Contest is open to high school seniors who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender, as well as allies. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic.
