The brave men and women of the Armed Forces sacrifice a lot for our nation. Many scholarship providers want to give back by offering scholarships open only to military service members, veterans, and their dependents. Below are scholarships for military service members, veterans, and military and veteran spouses and dependents.

Disabled Disciplines Award
Sponsor: The Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association
Amount: $1,000.00
Closing Date: April 3, 2026
Description: Award is open to registered USA Hockey Disabled Discipline players participating on a USA Hockey Disabled Discipline team/program. Disabled Disciplines include: Blind Hockey, Deaf/Hard of Hearing Hockey, Sled Hockey, Special Hockey, Standing Amputee Hockey, or Warrior Hockey (disabled veterans).

Wells Fargo Veterans Scholarship Program

Amount: $5,000.00
Closing Date: April 10, 2026
Description: Scholarship is open to individuals who are honorably discharged veterans or spouses of disabled veterans who have served in the United States military, including the Reserves and National Guard. Applicant must be a high school or GED graduate who plans to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate (first Master’s degree) study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school.

Enlisted Prize Essay Contest
Sponsor: U.S. Naval Institute | Textron Systems
Amount: Up to $3,000
Closing Date: April 15, 2026
Description: Contest is open to enlisted personnel – active duty, reserve and retired-from any nation’s sea services. Applicant must submit an essay on a topic that makes the naval profession stronger.

Scholarship America Veteran Scholarship for Educators
Sponsor: Scholarship America
Amount: Up to $10,000
Closing Date: April 15, 2026
Description: Scholarship is open to current and incoming students who have served in the United States military, to include the Reserves, National Guard and Coast Guard and is an honorably discharged veteran, no longer drilling or serving by July 2026.

Military Commanders’ Scholarship Program
Sponsor: Military Commanders’ Scholarship Fund
Amount: $5,000.00
Closing Date: April 27, 2026
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and graduates who have not attended college yet and plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study. Applicant must be a dependent child of an active duty, reserve, National Guard or retired member of the United States military who hold valid Exchange & Commissary shopping privileges at the time of application.

John Edelman Scholars Scholarship
Sponsor: Student Veterans of America
Amount: $10,000.00
Closing Date: May 1, 2026
Description: Scholarship is open to student veterans who will be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student during the upcoming academic year. Applicant must be pursuing a degree that will result in a career in mental health counseling or related field, including, but not limited to Psychology, Psychiatry, Social Work, or Behavioral Health.

Military Veteran Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. military veterans, current service members in the U.S. military, or the children of a Veteran or current service member. Applicant must be currently enrolled in, or have been accepted to, an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university or college in the U.S.

TrophyCentral Sportsmanship & Compassion Scholarship

Closing Date: May 31, 2026
Description: Scholarship is open to incoming college freshmen who had at least a 3.25 GPA in high school. Applicant must have demonstrated a unique or special form of sportsmanship, kindness or compassion. Although not required, special attention will be given to applicants who are the first in their generation to attend college or are entering a branch of the military (ex. ROTC).

Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation Scholars Program
Sponsor: Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation
Amount: Up to $6,250
Closing Date: Monthly – all documents due to the program team by the 15th of each month
Description: Program is open to children – whether natural, by marriage or adoption – who have lost a parent in the line of military duty, during combat or peacetime. All branches (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard) and all components (active, reserve and guard are covered). 

Educational Benefits for Children of Deceased Veterans and Others
Sponsor: Delaware Department of Education
Amount: Tuition and fees at your college (see website for specific details)
Closing Date: Completed application is due 6-8 weeks before classes begin
Description: Program is open to residents of the state of Delaware between the ages of 16 and 24 years of age whose parent was a resident of Delaware at the time of death or declaration of mission in action or prisoner of war status.

Wells Fargo Veterans Emergency Grant Program
Sponsor: Wells Fargo
Amount: Up to $1,000
Closing Date: There is no application deadline, but grants will be awarded on an ongoing basis until funds are exhausted.
Description: Grant program is open to honorably-discharged veterans and spouses of disabled veterans who have served in the United States military. Applicant must be a student who is already enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate study.
