Some students are offered athletic scholarships to continue their sport in college. However, not all student athletes are give this opportunity. Luckily, there are outside scholarships open just to student athletes. Some of the scholarships listed are for specific sports, while others are open to all student athletes.

Ambassador of Aloha Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to full-time undergraduate students attending an accredited college or high school seniors demonstrating financial aid. Applicant must be a resident of Hawaii, have at least a 3.0 GPA, and participate in canoeing, surfing, kayaking, swimming, water polo, or volleyball, with a record of accomplishments and intention to compete in college.

Bernie Varnadore Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to outstanding high school seniors who have participated in a Franchised DBB, Inc. Program and plan to pursue undergraduate studies at a college or university.

Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program

Amount: Up to $25,000
Closing Date: April 1, 2026
Description: Scholarship is open graduating high school seniors who are currently involved in high school sports, intramural sports, or community based sports. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Ira Mitzner Collegiate Boxing Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current undergraduate students who are/ will be competitive boxers for the United States Intercollegiate Boxing Association.

H.U. Lee Memorial Foundation Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current college students who have at least a 3.0 GPA and have practiced Taekwondo.

Jean Ehn Spirit of Excellence Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to high school senior cheerleaders from Iowa who display outstanding scholastic achievement.

TrophyCentral Sportsmanship & Compassion Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming college freshmen who had at least a 3.25 GPA in high school. Applicant must have demonstrated a unique or special form of sportsmanship, kindness or compassion. Although not required, special attention will be given to applicants who are the first in their generation to attend college or are entering a branch of the military (ex. ROTC).
