Distracted Driving Essay Program

Description: Scholarship is open to Alabama high school seniors and college freshmen enrolled in an Alabama college or university. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to distracted driving.

Birmingham Member Chapter Scholarship
Sponsor: Association for Iron & Steel Technology
Amount: $2,000
Closing Date: April 30, 2021
Description: Scholarship is open to current AIST members or the children (natural, step, adopted, or ward) or spouse of a member in good standing, of the AIST Birmingham Member Chapter (Mississippi and Alabama). Student must be accepted in an eligible, full-time course of studying in the field of engineering with a demonstrated interest towards a career in the iron and steel industry.

Crystal Green Memorial Scholarship
Sponsor: Blood Assurance
Amount: $1,500
Closing Date: April 30, 2021
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors who attend a high school in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee or Virginia. Students do not need to be blood donors, but donors will be given special consideration. Applicant must write a detailed marketing plan for a new blood drive promotion.

Kids’ Chance Scholarship
Sponsor: Alabama Law Foundation, Inc.
Amount: Up to $2,500
Closing Date: May 1, 2021
Description: Scholarship is open to young people whose parent or parents have been permanently disabled or killed on the job in Alabama. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or current college student.
