LGBTQ Scholarships

If you are a member of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer + community, there are scholarships out there just for you. In addition, many of these scholarships are also open to LGBTQ+ allies.

PFLAG South Orange County Scholarship
Sponsor: PFLAG South Orange County
Amount: Up to $2,500
Closing Date: April 23, 2021
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and college/vocational students who are residents (or children of residents) of Orange County between the ages of 17-24 and who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, or queer/questioning, and to straight allies.

PFLAG Cincinnati Scholarship

Description: Scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors and current college students who are residents and/or attending a college in the Greater Cincinnati area and can demonstrate positive involvement with the LGBTQ community.

Tang Scholarship
Sponsor: Silicon Valley Community Foundation

Closing Date: April 30, 2021
Description: Scholarship is open to self-identified Asian/Pacific Islander students (at least 25% API ancestry) who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender and have/will graduate from a high school in one of the nine Bay Area counties (California).

Out to Protect Scholarship

Closing Date: May 28, 2021
Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in a basic law enforcement training program in the United States who identify as gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, or transgender.

API Study Abroad and Intern Abroad Scholarships

Closing Date: June 10, 2021
Description: Scholarships are open to API program participants. There are multiple scholarships with specific requirements – see website for details. In addition to general scholarships, there are scholarships specifically open to community college students, military veterans, non-traditional students, students with disabilities, minority students, LGBTQ students, STEM majors, and student athletes.

AfterCollege STEM Inclusion Scholarship

Closing Date: June 30, 2021
Description: Scholarship is open to currently enrolled students working towards a degree in a field of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics from a group underrepresented in their field of study. Underrepresented groups may be defined by gender, race, ethnic background, disability, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic status, nationality, and other non-visible differences.
