Do you like taking photos? There are scholarships and contests out there that ask for your best photo. Some program simply ask for a photo while others ask for a description or essay explaining the photo. Check out these scholarships that ask for a photo.

Description: Program is open to all individuals worldwide. Individual must submit a photo of a U.S. historic site. Program will accept multiple photos.

Writer’s Square Essay Contest

Description: Scholarship is open to all enrolled students from first grade to college. Applicant must write an essay or a photograph on the theme “Greatness.”

Scholarship for Study Abroad in New Zealand

Description: Scholarship is open to legal U.S. residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia (except Rhode Island) and Canadian residents who are 18 years of age or older who would like to study abroad in New Zealand. Applicant must write a short essay why they want to study abroad in New Zealand and a creative photo.

CARiD Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to current college students between the ages of 16 and 20 who will be enrolled in post-secondary education in the upcoming semester. Applicant must create a photo inspired by any aspect of the automotive industry.

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in, or have been accepted to, an institution of higher education specializing in the study of photography.

Future Designer Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. residents who are 17 years of age or older and who are enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution. Applicant must submit an original artwork or photograph for use on a greeting card.

James Alan Cox Foundation Scholarships
Sponsor: James Alan Cox Foundation for Student Photojournalists
Amount: $2,500 for college students and digital camera for high school students
Closing Date: November, 15 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to college, technical school and graduate school students who are studying photography or photojournalism. Applicant must submit five digital images for still photography submissions or two videos, with a maximum duration of three minutes, for video submissions. High school students wanting to participate should only send in still photography.

National Corn Growers Association Photo Contest

Description: Contest is open to legal residents of the United States. Applicant must submit a photo that helps to tell the story of farming field corn in America. Description: Scholarship contest is open to all high school, college and university students enrolled at any time during the latter half of 2018 who are at least 14 years of age.
