Distracted driving has become a big problem. Texting and driving is the probably the most common distracted driving activity, but there are other activities that can distract you while driving. Unfortunately, distracted driving causes traffic accidents all the time. If you have been affected by distracted driving or if you are passionate about people not being distracted by while driving, there are scholarships for you!

Don’t Text and Drive Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to high school students in grades 9-12 and current college or graduate school students. Applicant must complete a short form and share a 140-character statement explaining why they will not text and drive.

Create Real Impact Contest

Amount: Up to $1,500
Closing Date: October 5, 2019
Description: Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia between the ages of 14 and 22 years. Applicant must create an original work showcasing their idea for a solution or strategy to fix the very real problem of reckless and distracted driving.

Robert J. DeBry Scholarship

Closing Date: December 15, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to currently enrolled college students in the United States. Applicant must submit an essay on one of multiple topics related to causes of injuries, such as distracted driving, motorcycle accidents, drug injuries, wrongful deaths related to fire arms, driving under the influence, and pedestrian accidents.

Andrew Flusche Scholarship Contest

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors who have been accepted into a college, university, or trade school and students who are currently enrolled in a college, university, or trade school. Applicant must create a public service advertisement video (PSA) about avoiding distracted driving (e.g. cell phones, passengers, radio, etc.)

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in an accredited institution located within the United States. Applicant must submit an essay on some of the problems we face on the roads and what law could be changed to make roads safer.

Description: Scholarship is open to current and prospective students enrolled in an accredited U.S. college. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to distracted driving.
