First Generation Scholarships

Are you the first person in your family to attend college? Or, did your parents not attend college? If the answer is yes to either of these questions, you are considered a first generation college students. Below are scholarships for students like you.

API Scholarship
Sponsor: API Study Abroad
Amount: Up to $3,000
Closing Date: June 10, 2022
Description: Scholarships are open to API program participants. There are multiple scholarships with specific requirements – see website for details. In addition to general scholarships, there are scholarships specifically open to community college students, military veterans, non-traditional students, students with disabilities, minority students, LGBTQ students, STEM majors, and student athletes.

First Generation Scholarship from Coca-Cola
Sponsor: Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities | Coca Cola
Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: July 1, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students who are first generation students (defined as a student of Hispanic descent who is the first in their immediate family to attend college.

Kia America – HACU STEAM Scholarship
Sponsor: Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities | Kia Motors America, Inc.
Amount: $2,000
Closing Date: July 1, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students attending a four-year HACU-member institution who have financial need and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicant must be majoring in a STEAM program (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, or Math). First generation students are strongly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates who are residents of the states of California and Georgia.
