There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors planning to attend a four-year accredited academic institution. Applicant must demonstrate financial need (annual household income no greater than $70,000) and have a cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and a legal resident of Colorado, Georgia, Illinois or North Carolina.

Cooper Industries Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to current undergraduate students who are majoring in engineering or business and have at least a 2.75 GPA.

NEWH | Arizona Chapter Scholarship
Sponsor: NEWH – The Hospitality Industry Network |Arizona Chapter
Amount: $1,250
Closing Date: November 3, 2020
Description: Scholarship is open to currently enrolled college students attending an accredited college in Arizona or New Mexico. Applicant must have a career objective in of the areas of the Hospitality Industry (i.e. Hotel/Restaurant Management, Culinary/Foodservice, Architecture, Interior Design, etc.)

UNCF Budweiser Natalie Johnson Scholarship and Internship Program

Amount: Up to $6,500
Closing Date: November 4, 2020
Description: Scholarship is open to college sophomore and juniors attending a four-year, accredited, historically black college or university. Applicant must have at least a 2.8 GPA and have a declared major in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or chemical engineering, chemistry, or supply chain management.

Answering Legal Law Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled at an accredited law school with at minimum GPA of 3.5. Applicants must have some form of legal experience (volunteer, internship, employment).

AOTF Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled as a full-time student at an AOTA accredited or developing professional level (master’s or OTD) or occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program.

Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. high school and college women with an interest in computing and technology. College students must attend an NCWIT Academic Alliance institution and major or minor in computing.

Renee Starks Steed Memorial Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to current sophomores, juniors, and seniors who attend an HBCU (Historically Black College or University) and who are majoring in Design, Fashion Design, Retail, or Retail Management.

Alabama Cattlemen’s Foundation Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to Alabama high school seniors. Applicant or applicant’s parents or grandparents must be a member of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association.

Collegiate Equestrian/Rodeo Team Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students who are competing members of a recognized equestrian/rodeo team at a Alabama college. Student or student’s parents or grandparents must be current member of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Foundation.

Good Tidings Community Service Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors graduating in 2021 who are residents of one of the following California counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, Sacramento, San Benito, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, or Yolo. Applicant must have done something to serve the community.

Prudential Spirit of Community Award

Description: Award is open to all young people in grades 5-12 who live in the 50 United States and Washington, D.C., and have conducted a volunteer service activity within the past year.

Women in Aviation International Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to current college students who are studying aviation (or a related field) and who are members of Women in Aviation International. While some scholarships require applicants to be women, there are some scholarships open to both women and men.

Create Real Impact Contest

Description: Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia between the ages of 14 and 22 years. Applicant must create an original work showcasing their idea for a solution or strategy to fix the very real problem of reckless and distracted driving.

Regeneron Science Talent Search

Description: Talent search is open to any student who is enrolled in and attending his or her last year of secondary school in the United States or its territories. Applicant must conduct independent science, math or engineering research.

DC Tuition Assistance Grant (DCTAG)
Sponsor: DC.gov – Office of the State Superintendent of Education
Amount: Up to $10,000
Closing Date: November 13, 2020
Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens who are residents of the District of Columbia and are 26 years of age or younger. Applicant must be an incoming or current undergraduate student.

Sowers Club Nebraska Scholarship – Continuing Education

Description: Scholarship is open to current college students who are Nebraska residents and currently attending a college in Nebraska.

ACES Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to college juniors and seniors, graduate students, and recent college graduates. Applicant must have a commitment to a career in copy editing, exemplary work and academic achievement, and recommendations from teachers and work supervisors. Students in countries other than the United States may apply as well.

Bilingual Therapist Graduate Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to bilingual graduate students entering the final year of their graduate program, who speak a second language at native or near-native proficiency and are interested in working with bilingual/bicultural children after graduation.

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors from schools in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, or Wyoming. Applicant must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States and demonstrate financial need. Debt-Free Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students who will be enrolled in college during the Spring 2021 term. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Applicant must submit an essay on personal financial freedom.

Hagan Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors with at least a 3.5 GPA and from a rural area (a county with less than 50,000 people). Applicant must live in an eligible state (see website for details – Middle America) and demonstrate financial need.

Real World Design Challenge

Description: Participation is limited to students living in OR enrolled in schools located in a state or territory that is hosting a State Competition. To be eligible to compete as a student team member, a student must be currently enrolled in grade nine, ten, eleven or twelve. Students will be asked to address a challenge that confronts our nation’s leading industries. Students will utilize professional engineering software to develop their solutions and will also generate presentations that convincingly demonstrate the value of their solutions.
