Scholarship Saturday – February 8, 2020

There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

KyCPA College Scholarships

Autism Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and wish to continue their education at a university/college/junior college or trade/vocational school. PAF’s Scholarships for Survivors

Amount: $3,000 annually up to four consecutive years, as long as applicant meet the guidelines of the program

Description: Scholarship is open to students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher who are under the age of 25 and have been diagnosed with or treated for cancer, a chronic, or life threatening debilitating disease within the past five years.

Simon Youth Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to members of DCHA, or the sons, daughters or legal dependents of a DCHA members. Applicant must be currently enrolled in an agriculture-related field (e.g. dairy science, animal/veterinary science, agricultural technical course, ag communications, etc.) at an accredited college or university.

Gordon A. Rich Memorial Scholarship

Description: Applicant must be a dependent child of a full-time employee in the financial services industry. Employee must be presently employed with five years of experience OR no longer employed in the field but had ten years of experience which ended no longer than five years prior to scholarship. Scholarship is open to high school seniors who are enrolling as a full-time first-year student in pursuit of a four-year bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university in the United States. Applicant must have at least a 3.5 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.

Income Inequality Video Contest

Innovation in Education Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in high school or college within the United States with at least 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be a citizen of, permanent resident, or hold a valid student visa in the United States or Canada. Applicant must have designed an innovative project that makes a difference in the lives of others and submit an essay describing the goal of the particular project and provide supporting documentation.

Optimist International Essay Contest

Description: Scholarships are open to California college students with serious illness or injury. Applicant must be under the age of 30 and have a serious medical condition affecting their ability to stay in school.

Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. high school seniors graduating in the spring of 2020. Applicant must be a vegetarian and have promoted vegetarianism in their school and/or community.

Description: Scholarship is open to West Virginia residents who are college sophomores, juniors or seniors enrolled, or planning to enroll, in civil engineering or a construction related four-year degree program in a West Virginia college or university.

CISCO Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to children of building trade union members and employees of union contractors. Applicant must be a high school senior who is a U.S. citizen and has been provisionally accepted as a full-time student into an undergraduate degree program at a two or four-year accredited college or university.

Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley Scholarship

Description: Scholarships are open to residents of the counties of Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Tyler and Wetzel in West Virginia and Jefferson and Belmont in Ohio. The majority of the scholarships are open to high school seniors, but there are some open to current college students and non-traditional students. ESA Scholarships for Children of First Responders

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors in Nevada who have a father, mother, or natural guardian who is a first responder. This deadline is for Nevada students only. Students in Connecticut must apply by March 20; students in Wisconsin must apply by March 6; and all other students must apply by April 10.

Gateway to Research Scholarships

First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association Annual Scholarship Program

Description: Scholarship is open to members in good standing with the Association for at least three years prior to date of application. Description: Applicant must be a DREAMer who is DACA eligible and has applied for or received DACA approval. Applicant must be a first time college student and intend to attend a partner college (details available on website). In addition to the national scholarship, there is location specific scholarships (states where they face paying out-of-state tuition or will not admit students to their universities).
