Scholarship Saturday – March 2, 2019

There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Description: Contest is open to students in grades 7 through 12. Applicants must submit an essay on a given topic related to Jewish people or values.

AABE National Scholarships
Sponsor: American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE)
Amount: Varies
Closing Date: March 15, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who are members of one of the underrepresented minority groups in the sciences or related areas of technology. Applicant must demonstrate financial need and plan to major in business, engineering, technology, mathematics, or physical science. Applicants must be sent to their local chapter for consideration.

ACEC Scholarships
Sponsor: American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC)
Amount: Up to $10,000
Closing Date: March 15, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to students seeking degrees in engineering who will be entering their junior, senior, fifth, or master’s degree year in the fall of 2019 at an ABET-accredited engineering program or in an accredited land-surveying program.

AFWA Milwaukee Chapter Scholarships
Sponsor: Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance – Milwaukee Chapter

Description: Scholarships are open to female Wisconsin residents who are current college students enrolled in two-year or four-year Accounting programs at a Wisconsin institution (including online attendance).

Alabama Home Builders Foundation Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to Alabama residents who are enrolling in, or attending, an accredited junior college, technical school, or university in Alabama. Applicant must be enrolled in a residential construction-related curriculum.

Alcohol Addiction Awareness Scholarship
Sponsor: Law Offices of Randall B. Isenberg
Amount: $500
Closing Date: March 15, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to currently enrolled and formally accepted students at any accredited U.S. community college, undergraduate or graduate program. Applicant must possess a history of raising alcohol addiction awareness as demonstrated by volunteer, educational, or professional experience.

American Atheists Scholarships

Amount: Up to $1,000
Closing Date: March 15, 2019
Description: Scholarships are open to incoming and current college students in the United States who have at least a 2.5 GPA. Applicant does not need to be U.S. citizen, but must attend a U.S. based institution. Applicant must demonstrate atheist activism in their communities and schools. In addition to the general scholarships, there is a scholarship open specifically to a member of the LGBT community.

American Foreign Service Association National High School Essay Contest

Amount: Up to $2,500
Closing Date: March 15, 2019
Description: Contest is open to high school students in grades 9-12 who are U.S. citizens. Students must submit an essay on a given topic related to the Foreign Service.

B.O.G. Pest Control Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are studying chemistry, chemical engineering, biology, environmental studies or related fields.

BAGI Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to Illinois Farm Bureau members and their dependents (age 21 and younger) who are accepted or enrolled in an accredited community college, college, or university and enrolled in agriculture, agribusiness, or agriculture-related field.

Be the Boss Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to female high school and college students who want to start their own online business. Applicant must share all the reasons they are scared to start their business and who their female boss role model is.

Beyond the Boroughs Scholarship

Amount: Up to $20,000
Closing Date: March 15, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who have been accepted to an accredited four-year college, university, or equivalent and are from a low-income household. Applicant must submit personal essays and an essay on their community.

Blades of Green Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are studying environmental studies or related fields. Applicant must submit a letter of intent, recommendation, and transcript.

Carter Stroupe Memorial Scholarship

Amount: Up to $1,000
Closing Date: March 15, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate students who are residents of Guilford, Rockingham, Randolph or Alamance County, North Carolina and self-identity as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or straight ally.

Catch a Break! Scholarship
Sponsor: Catch a Break!
Amount: Up to $10,000
Closing Date: March 15, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to incoming college freshmen who will be 21 years of age or younger when they enroll. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and a Minnesota resident attending a public college or university in Minnesota. Applicant must have faced challenges in their life and have a household income that shows significant stress/challenge in paying for college.

Catching the Dream Scholarship

Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: March 15, 2019
Description: Applicant must be 1/4 or more degree American Indian and be an enrolled member of a U.S. tribe. Applicant must be attending or planning on attending a college or university within the U.S. on a full-time basis that is fully accredited.

Coast Guard Foundation Scholarship
Sponsor: The Coast Guard Foundation

Closing Date: March 15, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to unmarried dependent children of enlisted men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard. Applicant must be applying to college or currently in college and working towards their first undergraduate degree, listed in Coast Guard DEERS, and under the age of 23 when applying.

Community Foundation of Louisville Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students in the Louisville area. There are multiple scholarships available with different requirements. See website for details.

Conservation Achievement Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors in Illinois who have demonstrated effective, voluntary, long-term dedication to the preservation, protection, enhancement and/or promotion of Illinois’ natural resources.
