Scholarship Saturday – February 2, 2019

There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Description: February 14, 2019 marks the one year anniversary of the Parkland school shooting, which took the lives of 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Make a phone call to your elected officials about gun violence prevention to commemorate the Parkland shooting anniversary. Description: Scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors and current college students who are residents of Vermont. There are multiple scholarships available – see website for details.

Walter Urbigkit Memorial Scholarship
Sponsor: Wyoming Community Foundation
Amount: $500
Closing Date: February 15, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors of any Wyoming High School and past graduates of Wyoming High Schools who are studying in the field of aviation. Applicant must have at least a 2.0 GPA. Scholarship is open to students statewide, but preference is given to students of Fremont and Hot Springs Counties.

William Robert Findley Graduate Chemistry Scholarship
Sponsor: Daughters of the American Revolution
Amount: $2,000
Closing Date: February 15, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to students attending graduate school full-time in an accredited college or university and majoring in chemistry. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.25.

Wyoming Auctioneers Association Scholarship
Sponsor: Wyoming Auctioneers Association
Amount: $500
Closing Date: February 15, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to Wyoming students who have graduated or will graduate from an accredited Wyoming High School or has completed the past year at a qualified University or school of higher education. Applicant must have at least a 2.5 GPA.

Wyoming State 4-H Foundation Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to Wyoming students who are current and/or past 4-H members in Wyoming.

Arlington Foundation of Excellence in Education Scholarship

Amount: Up to $3,000
Closing Date: February 16, 2019
Description: Scholarships are open to African American high school seniors who attend a school in Tarrant County (Texas).

Ashcroft-Riggs National Youth Scholarship

Amount: Up to $30,000 awarded over 8 semesters
Closing Date: February 16, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors who attend an Assemblies of God church and plan to attend an AG endorsed college.

Martin Luther Scholarship
Sponsor: Beta Sigma Psi – The National Lutheran Fraternity
Amount: $2,000
Closing Date: February 16, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to male graduating high school seniors who attend a Lutheran church.

Military Commanders’ Scholarship Program
Sponsor: Military Commanders’ Scholarship Fund
Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: February 16, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and graduates who have not attended college yet and plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study. Applicant must be a dependent child of an active duty, reserve, National Guard or retired member of the United States military who hold valid Exchange & Commissary shopping privileges at the time of application.
