Scholarship Saturday – January 5, 2019

There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors, graduates, and current post-secondary undergraduates who plan to enroll full-time undergraduate study at one of the 18 accredited PGA Golf Management universities.

Sleeping Angels Co. Scholarship Program

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled as a college/university student within the United States who are American citizens, permanent residents, or hold a valid student visa. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Student must submit an essay describing the evolution of the nanny in the 21st century.

$2,000 “No Essay” College Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to high school, college, and graduate students and those planning to enroll within 12 months. 10 Words or Less Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students between the ages of 14-25 who will be attending school in the Fall of 2019. Applicant must share in 10 words or less why they deserve the scholarship.

ABPA Harrington-Arthur Memorial Scholarship Essay Competition

Description: Scholarship is open to all persons of high school age (at least 13 and no older than age 19 as of December 31, 2018) who are legal residents of the United States or Canada. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to lawn irrigation systems and backflow prevention.

ACIS Travel is Education Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students in grades 6 through 12 traveling on an ACIS tour from October 15, 2018 through October 14, 2019.

Ag Day Essay Contest

Description: Contest is open to students in grades 9 through 12 in the 2018-2019 school year who are U.S. citizens. Applicant must submit a written or video essay on a given topic related to agriculture.

AIAA Scholarships

Closing Date: January 31, 2019
Description: Scholarships are open to current AIAA student members who have completed at least one academic semester and are studying science or engineering encompassed by the technical activities of AIAA. In addition to the general scholarships, there are scholarships open specifically to students studying Astronautics or Aeronautics, female students, and students who attend a college within the Rocky Mountain Section (Colorado, Wyoming or Montana).

Alfa Foundation Scholarship Program

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors, graduates and current postsecondary undergraduates enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time accredited program in the state of Alabama. Applicant must have at least a 2.5 GPA and have a current Alabama Farmers Federation Membership issued in her/her name.

ASRT Foundation Scholarship
Sponsor: American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Foundation

Description: Foundation has more than 65 scholarships available for the 2019-2020 academic year. Awards are available for all types of radiologic science students regardless of specific area of interest. In addition to the general scholarships, there is a scholarship open specifically to minority students.

Association of Women in Mathematics Essay Contest
Sponsor: Association for Women in Mathematics

Description: Contest is open to students in grades 6 through 12 and undergraduate students. Student must submit an essay based on an interview with a women currently working in a mathematical career.

BBC&S Scholarship Essay Contest

Closing Date: January 31, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to Clark County School District (Nevada) high school seniors with an interest in law or a related field and planning to attend college in the fall. Applicant must submit an essay on a given prompt related to athletics and legal issues.

Beauty School Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students planning on attending a program related to the beauty industry (cosmetology, barbering, hair design, nail technology, etc.)

Better Future Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in an accredited community college, undergraduate, or graduate program in the United States who have an interest in immigration reform and have at least a 3.0 GPA. Description: Scholarship is open to cancer patients and cancer survivors who are enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university.

CAS Trust Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in a U.S. or Canadian college or university who have sat for at least one actuarial exam by March of 2019.

Cherokee Nation Foundation Scholarships

Closing Date: January 31, 2019
Description: Scholarships are open to Cherokee Nation citizen students who have a minimum GPA of 3.0. There are multiple scholarships available, including scholarships open to high school seniors, undergraduate, and graduate students.

Child Welfare and Development Scholarship

Closing Date: January 31, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in social work (sociology, psychology, social sciences or a related field) at an accredited university. Applicant must have good academic standing and extracurricular experience working with children who have experienced neglect or abuse.

Courage to Grow Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to juniors and seniors in high school and college students with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Applicant must explain in 250 words or less why they believe they should be awarded the scholarship.

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and undergraduate students who are 16 years of age or older. Applicant must sign up to receive helpful tips on planning and paying for college and they will be automatically entered into the sweepstakes.
