July 2017 Scholarships

Attending college can be quite expensive for students and their families. Luckily, there are many college scholarships and contests available to help pay for a college education. Students should seek out and apply for scholarships in which they meet the eligibility requirements. Below are a handful of scholarships with July 2017 due dates. Check out the full list of July Scholarships – there are currently over 200 scholarships on the list! More scholarships will be added as they become available.

ALBA George Watt Prize Essay Contest

Description: Contest is open to high school, undergraduate and graduate students. Contestant must submit a written piece of work about any aspect of the Spanish Civil War, the global political or cultural struggles against fascism in the 1920s and 1930s, or the lifetime histories and contributions of the Americans who fought in support of the Spanish Republic from 1936 and 1938. Savor Summer College Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens who are high school sophomores, juniors and seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Applicant must submit an essay explaining how they will be using their summer vacation.

Duck Tape “Stuck at Prom” Contest

Amount: Up to $10,000
Closing Date: July 12, 2017
Description: Contestant must create DIY prom attire using Duck Tape.

Teen Travel Writing Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students ages 13-18 and attending grades 8-12 in the United States or Canada, or an American international school abroad, or be enrolled in a U.S. homeschool program. Applicant must share a travel story.

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current college students in the United States. Applicant must submit an essay answering questions about a move they have made.

PetKey Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to current or incoming full-time students at accredited institutions of higher education. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States. Applicant must submit an essay or video on their education and how their pet(s) positively impacted their lives.

Driving Safety Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to juniors and seniors in high school and students enrolled in two-year and four-year colleges and universities in the United States. Applicant must submit an essay on distracted driving.

Flavor of the Month Scholarship

Amount: $1,500
Closing Date: July 31, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to students 13 years of age or older who are legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia who are currently enrolled (or will enroll no later than the fall of 2023) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Applicant will need to submit a short response to a given prompt.

Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship

Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: July 31, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to students in grades 9-12, college, or graduate school students who are legal U.S. residents. Applicant must submit an essay answering why they deserve the scholarship or their academic or career goals.
